Reservations may be made by calling (813) 634-2228 or you may e-mail us at

Paddling Reservations:

We have a large number of boats and on most days we can easily accommodate folks without a reservation. However, individual reservations are always recommended to ensure that you get the boat type you want. Reservations also give us a contact telephone number so we can notify you of some weather or river condition if need be.  No pre-payment or credit card is required to make a reservation. If you must make changes to a reservation, we ask that you give us a courtesy call to let us know.

Group reservations for 8 or more boats qualify for our special group rates . Group reservations must be made at least 7 days in advance to receive the group rate. No pre-payment or credit card is required to make a group reservation. Individual or group leader payments are allowed. The number of boats reserved may be adjusted up or down at any time but if total boats rented falls below the 8 minimum, regular rates will apply. There is no financial penalty or obligation for change or cancellation but we do ask for a courtesy call to let us know if you plans change.

Camping & Lodging Reservations:

Reservations for camping and lodging are not required but are very highly recommended. Without a reservation, all camping and lodging is on an "as available" basis. We can fill up quickly on weekends and holidays, sometimes many weeks in advance, so please call early to make reservations.  Due to the limited capacity, reservations for cabin, RV and trailer rentals and individual or group camp sites require full payment at the time the reservation is made. We accept credit cards over the phone as payment with your reservation. In person payments are accepted during office hours for folks that are in the area. Reservations paid for by check will not be confirmed until the check clears your bank. Once your reservation is paid for, a confirmation will be sent to you by e-mail or US mail. Once you receive your confirmation, please verify the details of your reservation, review our policies, and contact us immediately if changes are required.

Cancellations or date changes for camping or lodging reservations are allowed up until 14 days before your scheduled check in date. To cover our processing costs, including those imposed by credit card companies, all cancellation refunds will incur a 5% processing fee. There is no charge for date changes made at least 14 days before your scheduled check in date. No refunds are given for cancellations or date changes within 14 days of your scheduled check in date. If you cannot utilize your reservation, please contact us and with your authorization, we will attempt to resell your reservation for you. Proceeds of any resale will be refunded to you minus a 5% processing fee.  No cancellations are allowed or refunds given for weather or river conditions except for river levels at which we close to the public for paddling or for a named storm scheduled to pass within 100 miles of the outpost during your reserved stay. Cancellations may be made by phone or e-mail (preferred method), but are not valid until you receive a cancellation confirmation from us.

At the time of check in, everyone in your party may be required to sign a liability waiver. A credit card authorization (not a charge) for $200.00 may be required at time of check in for all cabin, trailer or RV rentals as a security deposit. If this authorization cannot be made to your credit card at time of check in, a cash deposit may be required. Damages, including breakage or loss of furnished items or damage to property including the cutting of any trees, may be charged against your deposit at replacement costs, allowing for normal wear and tear. If your rental unit is left excessively dirty, a $50 cleaning fee may be assessed against your deposit. At time of check in, you will be required to sign an acceptance of financial responsibility agreeing to pay for any damages. Any damages or fees in excess of the security deposit will be charged or billed to the renter. At the time of check out, all deposits will be fully refunded or authorizations released as per your credit card company's terms, minus any fees or damages due. Any unused portion of a lodging or camping stay or any paddling services included with a lodging stay is non-transferable and is forfeit upon check out.

The liability waiver, security deposit, camp and lodging rules, and the acceptance of financial responsibility are all requirements for lodging at the Canoe Outpost. Refusal or inability to comply with or complete any of them may result in you not being allowed to check in and no refunds will be given in such cases.
